Dear hiring manager ,

I am very interested in applying for the nurse position posted within your facility. I graduated in December of 2019, from the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Oakland Community College. I recently became licensed and am eager to obtain gainful employment where my nursing knowledge can be applied. I have completed clinical rotations at many hospitals.. Details of my clinical rotations include, safe medication passing, shift and focused assessments, charting, assistance with ADLs, vitals, foley insertions as well as learning how to effectively communicate with members of the health-care team, clinical instructors, and fellow nursing classmates.

I have worked as a waitress previously and found that it has prepared me immensely for my future career as a nurse. While waitressing I have gained skills such as prioritization and time-management, communication with employees and customers, multitasking, memorization of menu and orders, and teamwork. I also feel that is has prepared me for the physical aspect of working long hours while servicing people and consistently being on my feet. I believe that I am a valuable employee and that I will bring critical thinking, professionalism, compassion and an eagerness to gain knowledge to your floor. Although I am new to the role of a nurse, I am motivated to be the best nurse I can be while providing safe and evidence based care. I look forward to scheduling an interview with you in the future.

Sincerely,

Rebecca A. Belanger
