UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH PROJECT
January 2020 – March 2020
? Learned the following techniques and gained experience in:
o Advanced use of Fiji (ImageJ).
o Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence.
o Visualisation of samples with a fluorescence microscope, multiwavelength image taking and operation of the respective software.
o Use of sectioning tools (microtome, cryostat).
o Routine laboratory procedures and preparation of solutions.
o Maintaining laboratory equipment.
o Keeping records of the experiments and results.
o Following the laboratory health and safety regulations.
o Independent development and modification of protocols.
? Regularly presented and discussed my results with my supervisor and other scientists from my department.
? Analysed the obtained data and wrote a 5000-word report, where I presented and discussed my findings.
? Scored 80.4% (GPA 4.0) for the written report, with the overall score being 81% (GPA 4.0).

UNIVERSITY PRACTICAL SESSIONS
? Performed fundamental lab techniques like staining (Gram stain), light microscopy, spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, ELISA, cell culture.
? Completed practical laboratory sessions related to genetic analysis, including modifying and analysing recombinant plasmids, bacterial transformation, restriction enzyme cloning, PCR and electrophoresis analysis.
? Presented my results in the form of PowerPoint presentations, poster presentations and written reports.
? Solved statistical and mathematical problems, such as calculating serial dilutions, concentrations, transformation efficiency and plotting and interpreting standard curves.

VOLUNTEERING AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
? Was a volunteer for the University Open Days in NUMed Malaysia. My responsibilities included giving campus tours to visitors and sharing information about my course.
? Published posts on the official blog of the School of Biomedical, Nutritional and Sports Sciences. The aim of my blog was to familiarize the readers with an environment that I was working in (a neuroscience laboratory) and share some interesting details about my experiments.
? Performed in numerous university events as a member of the Music Club.
? Taught online courses on Russian language for students from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET).
