Marketing Specialist and Data Analyst. AEIP - Canada Pre-arrival Immigrant Services, Vancouver, BC

Graduate field placement position pertaining to pre-arrival immigration services, involving the marketing of a virtual career fair for those approved to immigrate to Canada in 2020 by constructing promotional content using Canva. Tasks involved the accumulation and analysis of immigrant demographic statistics and data, and most notably spearheading a social media marketing campaign, analyzing ad performance metrics and adjusting strategies accordingly; successfully exceeding attendance expectations (despite the pandemic) while adhering to a strict budget.

September 2019 – December 2019
Research Assistant Canadian Anthropology Society and American Anthropological Association Conference, Vancouver, BC

Collaboratively developing the interdisciplinary Embodied Pedagogies Resource Database. Tasks included: procuring database content, writing brief reviews for films, articles, blogs etc., and data input via WordPress. This is an interdisciplinary research project between the Education, Film, and Anthropology departments at SFU.

April 2016 – October 2018
Distribution Coordinator Cinema Politica, Montreal, QC

Liaised with cultural and academic institutions to book screenings and other events. Community outreach initiatives involving the production and promotion (via traditional and social media) of newsletter text, film synopses and social media copy. Track and meticulously catalogue all pertinent deliverables (contracts, invoices, media files). Compile databases and directories from scratch to be used for community outreach initiatives. Other tasks involved hosting events, event planning (procuring sponsors, etc.), and training student interns and new staff.

Tutorial lecturer and assignment marker for undergraduate SFU Communications courses. In this leadership position, I cherished and thrived upon the interpersonal relationships fostered via the education and promotion of critical thought. Here, I built upon my aptitude of honing students’ scholastic and professional development, as well as my ability to quickly and effectively edit written text.

Curriculum development and primary school teacher in rural Thailand. Tasked with developing course content for students financially marginalized from enrollment in full-time English Language studies. I excelled in this self-directed environment by virtue of my passion for promoting equitable avenues to education.
