An adaptable, hardworking character, with great transferable skills. Alongside my degree, I have a wide range of experience in media including News Journalism, Broadcast Journalism and Experimental Marketing.

Educational History:
Occidental College 2018-2019. I was selected by my host University for one of just three spaces to study at Occidental College. (Key Modules include: News Writing, African American Women Protest, Sociology of Non-violence and Journalism and Propaganda.)

University of Sussex 2016-2020. American Studies with a pathway to International Business Degree. (Key Modules include: American Literature to 1890, Roots of America: From Colonial Settlement to the Civil War and Reconstruction, American Visual Culture, International Business Strategy.)

A Levels: Sociology [A] Media Studies [A] English Language and Literature [B]. Wakefield College 2013-2015. (Featured in ‘Wakefield College’ Prospectus 2017 as a ‘success story’ for my A Level results in compassion to my peers at the college.)

Employment History
BMF Media Account and Production Intern: January 2019-Present. Providing both account and production team support which includes research for events planning whilst also working on production at the events. I also have various roles depending on what client/ project we are working on from interacting with clients to executing design plans for the events. Due to the dynamic of BMF being an experimental marketing agency the roles differ each day.

NewFilmmakers Los Angeles Volunteer: January 2019-Present. (NFMLA) showcases emerging film makers in Los Angeles, I volunteer each month at their monthly film festival. This involves production of the event itself, set up, greeting and in interacting filmmakers and the audience and then lastly helping close the event.

Talent Management Intern: October 2018-Febuary 2019. Kerner Management Associates. Duties include research, creating and updating various tracking grids, interacting with clients and buyers, data entry, general office work.

Video Producer: The Occidental. August 2018-Present. To assist on the creation and production of videos for the Occidental weekly. This includes reporting, script writing and finding creative ways to story-tell. ------------/

News Staff writer: The Occidental. August 2018- Present. Covering stories around Eagle Rock and Occidental college. Each week stories can range from opinion pieces to hard news stories. Published in both print and online. ------------/

Latest TV Journalist and News Reporter. May 2018-August 2018. Aired on UK Freeview channel 7. I presented and interviewed alongside discussions every night on the channels 6 o’clock news. Latest TV is Brighton’s regional television station, which prides itself on diversity. My roles included everything from popular culture Vox Pops on hot topics, to President Trump visit to the U.K. (full reference and content all available)

Copywriter: June- September 2017.The summer role was writing new content for JustS------------. The position was originally a 6-week contract however; my contract got extended right up to my University start date due to the results I achieved through my content. This gave me extensive knowledge of online affiliate sites, SEO marketing and a realistic portrait copywriting roles and job opportunities after graduation.

24 Karat Property: Property Manger Assistant/ PA Role December 2016-March 2017. The purpose of my position was to assist with the functions of the property management, to shadow my manger in an almost intern position gaining direct knowledge of the property market and the way in which it works.

Customer Assistant: Boots Brighton 2016- 2017. The key skill I learnt through working at Brighton Boots was the true nature of independence. Moving form Leeds to Brighton on my own for University only made me more motivated to work hard. It also allowed me to grow as an individual and adapt to moving far from my home city.
Bartender: Fibre Leeds, Summer 2016. Bartending allowed me to build on my collectiveness I had learnt in retail when dealing with customers. Although bar settings tend to be more colloquial therefore create more problematic settings, the key skill I learnt is to stay calm and never showing stress, whatever challenges that may arise that night.

Customer Assistant: Boots, Trinity Leeds 2014-2016. As a built on my retail experience it allowed me focus on my time-management skills as I was also studying full time. It allowed me to put my all into my work when I was there knowing I was taking time out of my study schedule, so I learnt key organisational skills.
Retail Assistant: Primark, Trinity Leeds- 2013- 2014. As my first retail job in perhaps the busiest mass-produced retail store in The U.K, I instantly got a sense of strong customer awareness, which allowed me to develop attentiveness to both customers and colleagues through clear communication skills. As well, due to the busy nature of retail in the Christmas period allowed me to gain teamwork skills that were invaluable.

Extra Curriculum and Volunteer Work:
Beauty Editor: ‘Sussex on Trend’ Fashion Magazine 2017-Present Day. At my University, I am involved a student fashion magazine. As the Beauty Editor, I constantly engaging with and aware of the beauty market and industry. Through this, it allows a great creative, outsource for me to write and express my opinions.
Wakefield College 2016, Journalism society: The Journalism society was organised around the production and distribution of reports on the interaction of events, facts, ideas, and people in college and around Wakefield. Writing on issues such as race, class, inequality as well as more light hearted ‘coming of age’ topics.
Volunteer work with Morley Observer: due to been on the committee at my student newspaper at Wakefield College, I wanted to build on my experience so I got involved with my local newspaper of my High School Town, Morley. Partially focusing on my Charity Work with ‘Beauty with a Purpose’.

The Tab Leeds 2016: As I continued my A Levels my interest in writing and Journalism continued, this is when I got involved in the student Newspaper The Tab, working directly with the Editor, gaining first-hand experience of colloquial journalism.

Samaritans Listening Volunteer 2016: This taught me an invaluable amount of skills. My empathy and compassion towards people and their situations only grew. Allowed me to get a perspective of the true struggles of many people’s lives that you are not exposed to in daily life.

Duke of Edenborough: Bronze Award: Duke of Edenborough taught me leadership, teamwork, self-motivation, communication, and confidence in my ability to learn and trust my intuition.

Beauty with a Purpose Charity Work 2015: Through Miss Leeds 2015 I was involved in charity work for ‘Beauty with a Purpose’, a charity that helps children globally. This allowed me to have a strong sense of public relations and commercial awareness, through working with my local community, local radio stations and my college and Miss England Partnership.
