Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA SHPEP- Summer Health Professions Education Program June 2017- August 2017
• A highly competitive, six-week intensive program, designed for underserved college students in the health field.
• Participated in clinicals to gain exposure to various aspects of health including optometry, podiatry, nursing and pharmacy. Observed treatments and patient interactions and learned about various technologies within each discipline.
• Attended interprofessional education seminars to learn about chronic illnesses and how they related to each medical discipline.
• Discussed the disparity of quality healthcare in underserved communities.

• Observe patient interaction and learn about how to properly educate patients and their families.

• Attended the Conference in partial fulfillment of my Senior Honors Project.

Work Experience
Harvey and Lewis Opticians March 2020-Present
• Manage the front desk, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments for patients in need of a visit with the Optometrist.
• Understand and work with vision insurance plans and copays.
• Assist the opticians with fitting glasses and contact lenses.
• In certain locations, conduct pre-tests on patients with an Autorefractor and Tonometer.

• Tutor undergraduate students in Anatomy and Physiology, Statistics and Physics.

• Give Kids the World allow children who are terminally ill and their families to have a week- long vacation free of cost.
• Aided in operating rides, distributing food, driving shuttles around the resort.
• Allowed children to forget about their stresses back home and provide them with memories they can cherish.
