JANNAT MIAN

SUMMARY
I am 20 years old and have worked multiple jobs and many in the Staten Island Mall itself. I worked at kiosks along with retail stores.

SKILLS
EXPERIENCE
I am kind and respectful to all customers, I am not afraid to ask questions when I am learning new things in my workplace. I am also able to work both alone and with coworkers.

01/2016 to 01/2018 Sales Associate?May's Kiddie Shop - Staten Island, NY

During the time I worked at this kiosk ( that eventually closed ) I learned to approach customers in a respectful manner along with making them comfortable. I sold christening gowns and suits along with customized onesies, bibs, t-shirts for children along with adult t-shirts. I had to learn the dresses and suit types along with the material and fabric and how we can customize it to the customers liking. I took orders and had to customize them in a certain amount of time. I took the time to make sure each customer was satisfied. I worked by myself after my training, I learned how to use a register, made trips to the storage room when customers dresses/suits were ready, I learned how to write up receipts and deal with deposits made by customers. I learned how to design t-shirts on a computer, fold and clean the merchandise and use a hot iron to place the designs along with using rhinestones and bows as well.

11/2017 to 02/2018 Sales Associate?Scarf Stand - Staten Island, NY

During my time of working at the Christening Stand, there was a stand near by selling scarves and hats. The owner approached me after seeing my work at the Christening Stand and decided to hire me seasonally. I organize and cleaned the stand along with approaching customers and getting them to buy the scarves and hats. I would talk to them in a friendly manner and make sales. I learned how to use new technology when it came to using credit/debit cards instead of cash and used a much more modern register. When new merchandise came I also unboxed them and restocked the stand to make it pleasing to the eye.

11/2017 to 02/2018 Sales Associate?Sheet Stand - Staten Island, NY

While I worked at the Scarf Stand, the owner also had a stand next to it selling sheets and bamboo pillows. If I wasn't working at the scarf stand, I would be working at the sheet stand and vise versa. During this time I also learned how to help customers with what kind of color, design and size of sheets they'd like, let them feel the sample of the merchandise as well. I also told them a little bit about the material of the sheets and pillows letting them have a hands on experience as to what they are about to buy along with some instructions on how to use it correctly.

Sales Associate?Kara - Staten Island, NY

?I worked at Kara which is a store linked to a store called Steps. Steps closed down which lead to less hours for employees including myself. Which is the main reason I left and I am currently trying to find another job with more hours.

I have learned a lot working at this store mainly because it is the first time working with coworkers. I learned the value of team work and making sure work gets done along with helping customers. There is a chore list, I'd clean and organize the entire store. I would help customers in the fitting rooms, along with try and help them find what they're looking for. I did shipment, changed prices when they were on sale, used a cash register along with using programs on the computer after scanning clothes, returning them, etc. I used credit/debit cards and helped customers who had store credit. I steamed the clothes and moved and organized the clothes when instructed.
