A junior in the College of Life Sciences at North Carolina State University pursuing a major in Plant & Soil Science while concentrating in the field of Ag Business. Being a student in the agricultural field has opened my eyes to how desperately we need sustainable farming practices in our growing world. This is something I am extremely passionate about and hope to learn more of during my future jobs and studies. I have worked in the crop consulting industry in the past which gave me an insight to the needs of farmers and their operations. I hope to one day expand this discipline so that agriculturalists know of new sustainable practices that will advance their individual operations and our world. This past summer I had the opportunity to study in Prague, Czech Republic where I was able to observe agriculture from a global perspective. This experience made me reevaluate our current practices in The United States and gave me the desire to travel within my work one day. I am also a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority where I dedicate my free time to volunteering with Inherit The Earth, The Sigma Kappa Foundation, The Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Seacoast Mission, and Gerontology. I plan to attend graduate school after completing my undergraduate studies in Plant & Soil Science and go into the field of sustainable agriculture.
