MWD Engineer / Directional Drilling / ERD Operations
� Provided Measurement-While-Drilling (MWD) services in the US Gulf Coast region, primarily offshore on jack-up and barge rigs. Recorded inclination, azimuth, and well path coordinates and relayed information to directional driller and company representative. Troubleshoot any survey equipment issues and maintain ability to record surveys.
� Responsible for Torque and Drag predictive analytics for client drilling operations. Analyzed drilling data to forecast potential problems regarding stuck pipe, casing running, and pipe tripping operations. Collected hook-load and drill string weight data during casing running and pipe tripping operations. Provided real-time charts to drilling management comparing theoretical vs. actual torque and drag values. Present on rig floor for all critical drilling and tripping operations in order to alert driller or company man of any abnormal readings and provided recommendations for solutions. Recorded drilling mud parameters to determine hole-cleaning efficiency. Prepared recommendations to adjust mud rheology and additives for wellbore stability, hole cleaning, and well control factors. Analyzed post well drilling data and evaluated level of job success and customer satisfaction. Coordinated with other vendors to determine optimum drilling strategies.
� Directional Driller (Rocky Mountain Region). Drilled dual and tri-lateral horizontal wells in Wyoming, N. Dakota, and Montana. Provided on-site supervision of directional operations including making up and laying down BHA. Familiar with COMPASS and WellView drilling software. Used MWD survey values to calculate sliding and rotary drilling distances to maintain proximity to planned well path. Maintained equipment inventory, updated computer database for on-going jobs, prepared job tickets, prepared daily drilling and end of well reports.
� Provided Remote Operations Support for drilling rigs in N. Louisiana. Monitored Torque and Drag readings along with MWD directional surveys and slide/rotate history of directional drillings operations for 15 land rigs via remote Pason System equipment and software. Provided troubleshooting assistance as required and traveled to locations 24/7 in the event of any serious issue or by request of the company representative.
