SKILLS
As a political science major with an extensive background in data analytics and research, my objective is to obtain a position where I can utilize my research skills in order to derive tangible solutions to issues facing the political landscape. From my coursework, I have an exhaustive understanding of how the political world functions, from the perspective of each branch of government. One semester’s experience working with the Political Science Research department at CU where I was able to gain skills and confidence in my ability to conduct research at a professional level, sufficient in various tools for conducting research analytics such as Rstudio, Strata, and Excel. My experience working remotely in various research positions has equipped me with strength in time management, ability to work independently, a strong sense of self-motivation, and excellent written communication skills. Solely financing my college experience from working in the service industry, I also possess great skills as a team player, and am skilled at building positive relationships with individuals from all socioeconomic backgrounds.

Research Assistant/ Spring 2020
As a research assistant working within the political science department at the University of Colorado, I gained valuable experience learning how to conduct cutting edge research at a professional level, as well as excellent written communication and time management skills, working remotely directly under faculty with the department and PhD students. As my project emphasis was on how migration pressure influences legislative behavior, I have a comprehensive understanding of the legislative process in the House and the Senate.

Nostos – A Veterans’ Journey
Research Analysis Intern / Summer 2020
In this position, I worked with a nonprofit startup attempting to identify strategic partnerships in the government, private, and non-profit sector. By using existing research on effective transitional programs for veterans, I identified a number of success metrics which could be useful for NOSTOS in developing an adequate transitional program. I gained experience in my written communication skills, as well as built upon my skills in conducting research for organizations attempting to derive tangible solutions for real-world problems.

Director of Fundraising, Delta Gamma – Phi
Fall 2018
Worked directly and communicated cooperative with the vice president of our foundation on a weekly basis. In this position, I was responsible for coordinating all fundraising efforts of the collegiate chapter, garnering sponsorships through outreach with local vendors, facilitated the fundraising efforts of our Winter philanthropy event, which accumulated to over $20,000 raised for our philanthropy. As a central member of the philanthropy team, honed in my leadership skills such as communication, planning, delegating and strategic thinking, through coordinating fundraising efforts.

Manager / November 2017 – Present
As a shift leader in the service industry, I have competency in my leadership skills and ensuring that an organization is running as effectively as possible. As a manager, I am responsible for delegating tasks to fellow employees, finding extra tasks when their duties were completed. In this position, I must work diligently as a team player in order to ensure that the business is running smoothly, and must practice excellent verbal communication with the store owner in order to ensure that the store is running as productively as possible.
