GEOLOGICAL SCIENCE BS, UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE
Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in geological science and a minor in geography. Earned a 3.98 GPA, placed on Dean’s List every semester, and honored as a Woman of Promise by a geology faculty member. Completed courses in hydrogeology, sedimentology, structural geology, natural resource conservation, physical geography, calculus, chemistry, GIS, physics, and other natural sciences.


EXPERIENCES

AUGUST 6 – AUGUST 20 2019
ALPINE ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD METHODS, UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE
In field experience through camping and hiking in the Cascade mountain range gaining exposure to volcanic arc geology. Examined volcanic and glacial processes in Crater Lake, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Hood to achieve a full understanding of a new terrain. Performed climate measurements to assess environmental influences on climatic processes and analyzed collected numerical data.

JUNE 1 – SEPTEMBER 7 2019
ICELAND GEOLOGY RESEARCH INTERNSHIP, GLOBAL TREKS AND ADVENTURES
Used observation and identification skills to analyze and map geologic features along trails to describe in a travel guide to western Iceland. Utilized local resources, professionals, and scientific articles to research the area’s geologic history and give a written contribution to the organization’s publication. Assessed fascinating volcanic terrain while experiencing the country’s unique culture and collaborating with other team researchers.

JANUARY 6 – FEBRUARY 7 2019
DOMINICA STUDY ABROAD, UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE
Immersed in country’s culture while studying two courses on physical geography and natural resource conservation, including in field evaluation. First hand analysis to physical, as well as economic, effects of a recent hurricane and used observations to discuss methods of remediation.

OCTOBER 2018 – MAY 2019
TUTOR, UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE OFFICE OF ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT
Worked with students to help them understand material in geology courses. Answered questions, explained topics, and provided visuals that aided in the student’s achievement.

MARCH 25 – MARCH 31 2018
GEOLOGY OF THE SOUTHWEST FIELD CAMP, UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE
Hands on exposure to geologic formations and compositions in Joshua Tree, Death Valley, and the Eastern Sierra Nevadas. Camped and hiked in the region while engaging in field identification of local rock types and processes creating the terrain. Gained a greater understanding and amount of experience with unique rock types.

AUGUST 2015 – PRESENT
WAITRESS/COUNTER CLERK/PIZZA COOK, JIMMY’S PIZZA AND PASTA
Took orders, served customers, and cooked pizzas to keep the restaurant running smoothly. Enriched my skills in customer service and public communication as well as multitasking by needing to address many duties at once. Learned time management from balancing my work schedule with my honor roll high school career and school sport schedule.


ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS
• Awarded the Excellence in Geoscience award from the UD geology department
• Vice president of geology club and board member of a town food cooperative and GIVE Volunteers Sustainability Committee
• Active club member of Students for the Environment and yoga club
• Accepted to participate in a five-day backpacking program in the Appalachians as an extended freshman orientation
• Volunteered for DNREC coastal cleanup events
• Involved in three Mapathon events using OpenStreetMap
• Participated as a volunteer tutor for a student throughout the fall 2018 semester
• Neighborhood Empowerment Team (NET) captain for freshman dormitory floor
• Studied abroad in Costa Rica February 2015 and stayed with an educational organization learning about local wildlife and environmental issues
• Participated in Girl Scouts from kindergarten to senior year of high school

My other interests include outdoor activities such as hiking through the Adirondack mountain range, paddle boarding, biking, camping, and traveling to national and state parks.
