Alfredo Alcántara is a Mexico City-raised, Brooklyn-based, documentary producer and cinematographer.

He’s a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and his work has screened at Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Mountainfilm in Telluride and SXSW.

Alfredo's camerawork is featured in the documentary 'American Promise,' winner of the Sundance Special Jury Prize, and Full Frame Grand Jury Award. He's currently producing and co-directing 'The Age of Water,' a feature documentary about Mexico's dark business of water. The film is supported by Latino Public Broadcasting, Chicken & Egg Pictures, Firelight Media and the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture.

Alfredo has produced, shot and directed content for The New York Times, A+E Networks, Condé Nast and The Nature Conservancy.

For the past three years, he's worked as a documentary producer at CNN in New York.
