Lead Teacher
Mill Valley Nursery School is hiring!
MVNS is looking for a warm and engaging Temporary Director and Lead Teacher for our cooperative, play-based, child led preschool program from August 29 until September 23, Monday through Friday from 8:30am-3:00pm. Our Director both guides the school and teaches our multi-age class of 2.9-5 year old children. MVNS enrolls up to 24 students and their participating parents. The Director supports parents in providing children chances to learn kindness, responsibility, prosocial behavior and independence, as individuals and within groups, in a safe and emotionally supportive environment. The Director oversees supervision of the children in their play and helps to engage through planned, age-appropriate activities.

Roles & Responsibilities
Serve as the teacher to our mixed age class of up to 24 students ages 2.9-5.
Develop and implement a play based curriculum for children ages 2.9-5.
Work with parents as co-teachers both to support the children and support parents in better understanding and supporting their child�s development
Manage curriculum supplies and school equipment and work with the board to acquire needed items.
Qualifications
Required:
Possess qualifications to obtain a Child Development Teacher Permit from the
California Department of Education
Preferred:
Experience with a cooperative preschool, or knowledge of and interest in working within the cooperative preschool environment.
Strong background in early childhood education and knowledge of child development.
Familiarity with and enthusiasm for play based education.
Competitive salary based on experience. This is a full time, temporary position.
Start date for the position will be August 29, 2022 and the end date will be September 23, 2022.
