Lifeguards
General Description:
As a lifeguard, your job is to Carry out Lions Bear Lake Camp�s goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Teaching and helping to coordinate the camp's waterfront and swimming activities and help maintain standards that lead to a quality program.

Specific:
Assist in checking equipment and making or arranging for repairs.
Provide swimming instruction for participants in cooperation with the Waterfront Director.
Assist in conducting initial and end of season inventory, storing and keeping equipment in good condition.
During staff training, work with the waterfront director to set up the waterfront area and teach staff their responsibilities in activities.
Keep records on participants. Help them progress from beginner to advanced levels.
Ability to communicate and work with groups participating and provide necessary instruction to campers.
Abilities to observe behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
Physical ability and strength to assist participants in the water at times when they are struggling or in danger.

Requirements:
Training and experience in waterfront activities.
Current lifeguard, watercraft and other certifications as appropriate to position.
Current CPR and first aid certifications.
Desire and ability to work with children outdoors.
Ability to relate to one's peer group.
Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
Good character, integrity, and adaptability.
Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control.
High School graduate or at least 16+ years of age.
