Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be an experienced gardener who is dependable, hardworking, and able to
effectively work independently. The Garden Manager will be responsible for managing the garden as
outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities

Garden Operations:
• Implement annual crop plan, including crop rotation, planting map, and seeding.
• Provide leadership in planting, cultivating, harvesting, and scheduling these activities.
• Oversee general farm upkeep such as basic tools and equipment upkeep, irrigation system
management, weeding, general maintenance, and composting.
• Organize and oversee opportunities for volunteer engagement such as harvest gatherings (once a
week in the evenings during peak season) and weekly volunteer workdays.
• Maintain communication with food bank(s) that receive harvested produce and ensure delivery to
food bank(s) is coordinated.
• Facilitate harvest to ensure high quality and timely production.
• Adhere to and lead volunteer training (including garden food safety and harvesting).
• Engage with volunteers and help lead groups of volunteers in the completion of various garden tasks.
General & Administrative:
• Reporting on farm outcomes (including harvest weights, produce donations, etc)

Desired Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year of garden management experience.
• Motivated, flexible and ability to work independently.
• Access to computer and phone. Experience with spreadsheets, email, text messaging.
• Be in excellent physical condition and able to lift 50 lbs.

Time Commitment and Compensation
This is a contracted, seasonal part-time position. Hourly compensation is $20/hr. Requests for time off are
coordinated among staff schedules and the needs of the organization.
