Youth Program Coordinator
Enjoy working with kids? Looking to make a difference? The Plymouth Branch is now hiring for a Part Time Youth Program Coordinator.
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director, the Program Coordinator will provide leadership and supervision to all programs creating a safe, positive, supportive environment for all participants. Programs included but are not limited to youth sports, afterschool recreational programs, dance/tumble classes, preschool enrichment classes and family programming. The Program Coordinator will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agencies. She/he will display and encourage the character traits of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee program’s quality and content according to the various levels and all age groups.
Progressive instruction in skills.
Teach classes based on the YMCA’s sports philosophy.
Incorporate the YMCA’s mission of developing healthy mind, body, and spirit into programs.
Develop promotional materials (tri-fold, flyers etc.)
Compile program records including: attendance, program evaluations, and accident/incident reports.
Develop and implement new programs as well as distribute informational sheets to parents/guardians.
Ensure all requests, comments and/or complaints are immediately addressed by you, and referred to your supervisor and/or the appropriate staff person.
Lead staff and assist with programs and special events (Healthy Kids Day, open house/demonstrations, end of the year show etc.)
Responsible for overseeing the overall safety for program participants
SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL
Aid in the recruitment, hiring, training and evaluating based on job descriptions and representation of branch/Old Colony/Y-USA goals
Aid in the process of annual performance evaluations
Ensure staff follow all policies and procedures of Old Colony Y
FACILITY/HOUSEKEEPING RESONSIBLITIES
Ensure that all equipment inventories are maintained.
Leave facilities clean and secure.
Order new equipment based on needs and budget.
INTERDIVISIONAL/COMMUNITY/VOLUNTEER/RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent the Old Colony YMCA in a professional manner.
Contribute to a positive work environment by illustrating pride in job, enthusiasm and cooperation with co-workers.
Strong Kids Campaign support and participation.
Participate in Special Events-assist in planning, developing and implementing.
