Youth Instructor

Urban Workshops youth STEM classes are growing! We are seeking highly motivated instructors to keep up with the demand.

If you love technology, have solid shop skills, and previous youth teaching / mentoring experience, we need your help as a full or part-time instructor. Formal teaching credentials are not required, but enthusiasm, a willingness to learn new technology, and strong desire to contribute to the youth of tomorrow is definitely required. Urban Workshop provides training in all areas of the youth program to ensure instructors are completely capable of supporting the program. All new instructors will be placed with an experienced instructor for their first semester.

The Urban Workshop youth program uses a highly developed, proprietary curriculum that is well defined and supported. Instructors are expected to prepare for their individual classes (materials and tools from our onsite inventory) as well as work with the students and clean up / restock after class. Some positions require supporting our mobile makerspace as well as the on-site classes. Experience driving a truck and trailer will be extremely beneficial to applicants interested in the mobile makerspace.
