Veterinary Assistant (or AHT/LVT) for unique position

Looking for Part Time (Up to 30 Hours/week)
Potential to Be Full Time (Generally 36-38 hours/week)
2 or 4 ten hour shifts (dependent on PT or FT position)

You will be predominantly working as a scheduling coordinator, but will also care for our patients in the Feline Hyperthyroid Treatment Center. Your predominant schedule would be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday (also dependent on PT or FT position), but we ask for occasional flexibility for unscheduled sick days and covering requested absences. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: phone communications, scheduling, clinic communication, feline husbandry, medication administration, measuring levels of iodine post-treatment, cleaning (kennels and general), daily patient updates, and patient discharge.

Sunday 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Monday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Tuesday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM

This position will lean more heavily toward a �reception� type role, meaning taking incoming calls from clients and referring veterinarians, scheduling appointments, chart work, and communicating with referring hospitals. As you will represent the face of our clinic, excellent customer service skills are a must. We will train you on these important communications for the initial first few months of hiring, and the animal care will follow once you are proficient in these skills.

If you would like to work in a progressive environment, are passionate about feline medicine, are a team player, and have previous experience working with felines in a medical environment, we would love to hear from you. Animal or veterinary experience is a plus, but not required.

Skills needed:

Passion for working with cats and their unique instincts and temperament
Desire to learn about animal husbandry and handling cats in a veterinary setting
Excellent customer service skills, both in person and over the phone
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail (Maintaining accurate medical records and closely monitoring your patients is crucial for a successful medical outcome)
Self-directed (You will have a daily �to-do list� and deadlines for various tasks)
Ability to lift and move 40 lbs (Large bags of litter, cases of food, and heavy cats)
Dependable, excellent attendance record
