Head/Assistant Coach with AHI Swim Team
AHI Swim Team, located in American Canyon, CA, (Napa County) is a program of excellence instilling a lifelong love of swimming. We are a Spring/ Summer Recreational Swim Team, part of the Twin County Swim league, serving approximately 140 swimmers age 4-18 in our community. The team is organized and managed by a volunteer parent board, and parent volunteers run the meets.
AHI seeks an Age- Group/Co- Head coach and Assistant Coach(es) for the 2022 season. We swim at the American Canyon High School Pool beginning late March through early August. Practices are held weekday evenings in March, April and May and continue in summer. Coach schedules will be considered before summer practice times are finalized. Swim meets are held all Saturday mornings in June and July with up to 2 full weekend meets plus one full Saturday meet also planned.
Age- Group Coach/ Co- Head Coach will have at least 3 years youth Swim Coaching experience, ability to teach and refine strokes, teach and refine starts & turns, write workouts including drills, and coach with positivity and enthusiasm. This position shares responsibility for placing swimmers in appropriate events for the swim meets using the Swimtopia platform, establishing practice times within allotted pool times, collaborating with the second Co- Head Coach, running the Junior Coach program, overseeing assistants, and reporting to the board.
AHI further seeks enthusiastic assistant coaches at least 18 years of age, one year out of high school, with a love of swimming and at least one year of competitive swimming or coaching experience. Assistant Coaches will collaborate with the Head Coach and parent board to inspire young swimmers to do their best as a valuable member of the team, encourage mentorship among swimmers, teach good sportsmanship, and to improve youth swimmer performance at all levels.
Current CPR and Lifeguard Certification is required for all Coaches prior to the start of the season.
