Job Description: School-Age Group Leader

Community United Methodist Church Child Development Center

Reports to Child Development Center Director

Overview

The School-Age Group Leader (�Leader�) will deliver and support the administration of programs for students enrolled in the School-Age Program. The Leader will research activities to meet their needs and develop engaging activities and modules in response to student interests/requests.

The Leader will also develop and implement curriculum for the School Age Program and improve the quality and diversity of the school-age program for both the school year and the Summer

Program.

Qualifications

Minimum

? At least 18 years of age

? High school diploma, certificate of high school equivalency, or successful completion of college courses for credit.

? Two years of successful teaching experience (preferably school-age) in a formal setting, child care center, or recreational department. (Preferred)

Preferred but not required:

? Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Recreation

Administration, or related field

Responsibilities

? Supervises and instructs groups of children in program activities and on field trips.

? Provides an environment that ensures the safety and well-being of all students.

? Provides an environment that meets and accommodates the individual mental, physical, emotional, and social developmental needs of children.

Plans and organizes a variety of enriching and age-appropriate program activities using a variety of resources to stimulate creativity.

Assures children have outdoor opportunities daily; utilizes various outdoor spaces; supervises children closely; refrains from social interaction with other staff; move about frequently and interacts with children.
Prepares and posts daily activity plans
? Ensures the environment is clean, tidy, and well-organized.

? Participates in all staff meetings, training, and other team-building sessions.

? Assists with maintaining appropriate records: Emergency Forms, attendance; informed of updates and information regarding children�s day-to-day circumstances /condition.

? Communicates with parents in situations regarding student�s necessities.

? Cooperates, collaborates, and communicates frequently with the Director.

? Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/Director.

Schedule

This position is part-time with the potential for full-time during holiday breaks. The applicant must have flexibility during daytime hours Monday- Friday.

The Child Development Center offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and certifications.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Childcare: 1 year (Required)
