Medical Receptionist

Position Purpose:
Our medical receptionists welcome patients for their appointments, schedule/ reschedule appointments. They are responsible for collecting payment at time of service and also assist in maintaining patient demographic records and financial accounts. We are looking for a highly detailed, customer service driven individual to join our practice. Cross-trained as medical assistant.

Ability to set priorities and work with minimal supervision
Excellent organization and communication skills
Excellent telephone communication skills: must speak well, clearly and pleasantly while projecting care and helpfulness
Ability to handle stress calmly and be flexible to change
Excellent computer and keyboarding skills
Knowledge of medical insurance (helpful)
Ability to prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of daily operations
Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities:

Answer multi line phone and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller’s needs.
Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data.
Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents.
Scanning paperwork into patients file
Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients.
Call and remind patients of upcoming appointments.
Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Maintaining list of needed supplies
Other assigned tasks as needed
Background Check and Drug Screen required
Demonstrate regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, visitors and staff
Welcome all visitors in person; answers telephone promptly
Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival as needed
Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information at each appointment; record and collect patient balances; update patient accounts
Obtain changes in insurance and provide documentation and consistent communication to billing department
Verify patient insurance benefits
Responsible for office inventory; maintaining a clean and tidy reception area.
Protects patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
Light cleaning
Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum of a High School diploma
Bilingual : Spanish and English required
Excel, Word
Hourly Pay rate- depends on experience

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $13.50 - $15.50 per hour
