Preschool Assistant Teacher
Responsible, in collaboration with the Lead Teacher, for the direction and overall supervision of a group of preschool students. Performs activities that ensure the safety, involvement, and creativity of each child in the group. Works cooperatively with the lead teacher to discuss and help with daily curriculum plans and classroom management.
Duties of the job:
Ensure safety of all children at all times.
Implement daily lessons when lead teacher is absent.
Preparing and setting up activities.
Assist in keeping the classroom neat, clean and orderly.
Maintain professional confidentially at all times.
Demonstrate patience and kindness in all aspects of classroom management.
Assist lead teacher with all daily activities.
Support lead teacher in managing classroom behavior.
Assist children who need extra support in completing a task.
Able to sit, stand and lift up to 30 lbs. on occasion.
Provide a welcoming, inclusive learning atmosphere for all students.
Welcomes families, volunteers and others into the classroom by creating a friendly environment.
The Preschool Assistant Teacher is a part-time position. Hours/week will typically consist of 8am-12:00pm, with occasional need to work more. The anticipated pay range is $15-$16/hour based on experience and applicable education.
