Job Responsibilities:

Planning and executing educational programs of age-appropriate activities for children and identifying each child’s individual capabilities and needs
Creating a positive learning environment
Assuring the welfare, health, and safety of the children in the groups
Organizing and maintaining classroom activity areas, materials, and supplies and keeping the Directors advised of equipment and materials that need to be repaired and replaced
Maintaining constant supervision of children (Keep your classroom door closed)
Taking daily attendance and keeping all required reports pertaining to the group
Daily classroom cleaning; toys, tables, chairs, cabinets, moping
Establishing and maintaining effective communication with parents
Building good relations with other staff to create a professional atmosphere
Attending pre-service and in-service training as required
Understanding N.C. Child Care Requirements
Keeping the Directors informed of any classroom problems
Qualifications
