The Company:
At Digs with Dignity, our mission is to elevate the lives of those transitioning from homelessness by filling their houses with everything that makes a comfortable, dignified home. As a 501(c)(3), Digs with Dignity partners with Chicago-based social service agencies to identify those in need and utilizes a warehouse of donated and refurbished furniture and home goods to outfit homes. Founded in 2019, we have helped furnish homes for 80 families (and counting) in Chicago.
The Position:
Digs with Dignity is looking to hire a hardworking, reliable, efficient go-getter to join our growing team. Part Time Movers will assist in all moving 2-3x/week at DIGS. Movers will work closely with the Designer, Warehouse Manager, and Executive Director to efficiently stage all furniture every Monday OR Wednesday (flexible) and move all furniture into our clients� homes every Friday. Competitive pay at $20/hour for 8-15 hours per week.
The Details:
-EVERY MONDAY OR WEDNESDAY from 10am-12pm Responsibilities include: Moving tagged furniture within the warehouse to our staging area in preparation for the upcoming move in day, putting incoming donated furniture to the appropriate locations within the warehouse.
-EVERY FRIDAY from 7:30am-12pm Responsibilities include: Loading the truck, moving in furniture to on site location and staging appropriately.
-ONE SATURDAY/MONTH from 7am-3pm (times may shift slightly) Responsibilities include: executing our monthly pick up route which includes 8-12 stops within Chicago city limits, loading and unloading furniture, putting furniture away at the warehouse upon return.
-Truck packing skills required
-Driver�s license/experience or comfort in driving a 17-20ft box truck required

Digs with Dignity is located at 1965 West Pershing near US Cellular Field - 15 minute walk from the Orange Line 35th/Archer stop. We service families located in various Chicago neighborhoods.
