Outdoor Environmental Educator
White Oak Farm & Education Center in Williams, Oregon is currently hiring an experienced outdoor educator for a flexible hours position starting Fall 2022. The Garden Educator will work in three local school gardens and on the Farm. The position includes creating curriculum, managing and maintaining the school gardens, working with students, and also helping deliver programs at White Oak Farm. Programs at the Farm include: school field day trips, farm camps, or possible overnight school field trips. If the applicant has farming, carpentry, and other land-based skills there is the possibility of full-time work, and potentially on-site housing on the Farm.
White Oak Farm is a 62 acre non-profit organic Farm and Education Center in Williams, Oregon that has been delivering programs and produce locally for 20 years. We are passionate about sustainability, organic farming, natural building, equal rights, and the Earth. Alongside delivering education programs, we also grow seeds for seed companies, operate a native plant nursery, grow food for food banks, and run a small goat dairy.
We are looking for land-based, energetic, creative, self-motivated, positive people that are clear communicators. To thrive in this position an applicant must be confident with large groups of children, organized, and fun!
The position is offered for two years, with the understanding that both White Oak Farm and the Educator will make every effort to fulfill this time commitment as long as it is working for both parties. Pay is $17-$20/hr based on experience.
