Wee Folk Farm is expanding and building a beautiful new barn on the property. The Nature based play-school is located in Acushnet Ma. and will be finished and opening September 2022. We are looking for 4 part time assistants to join our Wee Folk Farm community. (Hours below)
Starting pay is $15 an hour but we are performance based they is room to grow.

If you enjoy working with young children, being outside in the sunshine & having fun, we have the school for you. The new building is amazing, with three classrooms, infant toddler and preschool.

This forest environment has plenty of outdoor space including paths through the woods, large gardens, farm animals, It is a licensed group care program that is fully up to code with the safety and health standards.

Wee Folk Farm curriculum promotes the balance and growth of the whole child- physically, mentally and socially. It acknowledges these early years as the very beginning of life experience and thus the most crucial in the overall development of the child. My 18 years of experience is that children learn through imitation, imagination, repetition and direct experience, absorbing everything in their environment. My program is purposely gentle and peaceful. I feel that although stimulation can have a role in early childhood development, the important element is that the children be properly stimulated. Life for little children can be sometimes over-stimulating, this is a place for imagination and creativity to emerge.

Our program is nature and season based. Our hope is that we can reunite children with nature and help them understand that the earth and the natural world should be valued and protected, while using nature as an educating tool. We also have gentle animals which we care for daily by gathering eggs, brushing goats, playing with bunnies and any turtle, frog, or any animal, insects that come our way...all which in turn teaches many lessons such as: Improving confidence and learning about unconditional love, Teaching empathy and respect, Understanding the circle of life, Learning to appreciate nature and the natural world, Teaching responsibility, Helping with communication, Scientifically-researched benefits.

I am striving to create a haven- a place where children feel safe, nurtured, loved and free to explore the world at their own pace. Their days consist of artistic activity such as painting and drawing, practical life skills such as baking and gardening, and daily rituals and routines such as setting the table, and singing together and most importantly PLAY. I feel movement is crucial in the development of the child. There is an emphasis on warm human relationships and natural interactions among adults and children.
