Logistics Assistant
Sun Produce Cooperative is hiring a part-time Logistics Assistant – 24 to 30 hours week, $15.50/ hour to start. The position is for 6 months and may be extended based on available funding.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing support to the Co-op’s Logistics Coordinator.
• Compile and disseminate weekly Producer Availability Lists to buyers
• Schedule and ensure product pick-up and order delivery
• Dispatch truck drivers - including printing and getting paperwork to drivers
• Prepare customer orders by receiving, ensuring quality and staging orders for distribution
• Manage product storage
• Maintain efficiency, cleanliness, and safety, including food safety requirements of warehouse, aggregation space, and trucks
• Have skills and qualifications (clean driver's record) to drive a 16 ft. box truck as a back-up driver
Qualifications:
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. / warehouse experience
• 2 years’ experience using Microsoft Office, QuickBooks
• 2 years’ experience supporting management using a variety of project and time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Customer Service background
• Preference will be given to persons familiar with local, sustainable farming production and distribution processes and cooperative business models.
