Fine Art Instructor
Alyce�s Art Studio is an award winning art school for children and teens in Manhattan Beach. Our studio focuses on fine art drawing and painting and has taught thousands of young people in the south bay since 2011. What sets us apart is our contemporary approach to fine art education. We value the ideas of our young students and have a deep interest in helping them bring their ideas to life. We are seeking a super fun loving ART TEACHER to join our team!
Duties:
- Lead fine art drawing & painting classes for children and teens in small groups
- Adjust curriculum to meet developmental needs
-Participate in studio organization, maintenance and clean-up
- Interact with parents to strengthen our community
- Be available for weekend events and parties ( a few times a year)
- Run occasional Sunday birthday parties alongside another staff member.
Requirements:
- 2 + years working with children
- BFA (or educational equivalent)
- Ability to draw and paint realistically AND imaginatively.
- Advanced knowledge of traditional fine art using a variety of art media: graphite pencils, pen and ink, watercolor, oil pastels, colored pencils, markers, chalk pastels, charcoal, oil paint and acrylic paint.
- Excellent communication skills & customer service savy.
-Team player. Able to support and encourage those around you and jump in when needed.
- Ability to create and maintain an energetic and upbeat teaching pace.
- Flexible in teaching style and open to ideas
-Ability to learn our teaching methodology and curriculum
- Reliable transportation. Recommended commute time less than 20 mins each direction.
-Ability to pass a background check
-Must be able to work within in the US
-1 year commitment
Schedule:
-Studio is open Monday through Saturday. We have immediate availability for both full time and part-time employees.
- TRAIN for 2 weeks
- Saturdays from 9:15 am- 3:45 pm are required
