Debate experience a bonus but not required! Make a difference and empower 4th & 5th graders by teaching debate skills using our original curriculum and lesson plans. Teaching, education, or coaching experience essential. This is a unique opportunity to work with the oldest elementary debate program in the Pacific Northwest, teaching critical thinking skills, public speaking, empathy and teamwork to children through debate. CURRENT OPENING BEGINS IN JANUARY AT SEATTLE AREA SCHOOLS

DebateAble's Debate Club is an enrichment program offered at multiple elementary schools in the Seattle area. Debate Clubs meet after school for 60-90 minutes, once a week, and currently has openings at three different schools. DebateAble provides coaches with training and materials, ongoing support throughout the year, debate resources, and assistance with administrative and communication components of the position.

Compensation - Hourly pay is for teaching time only.

Job Responsibilities:

Total weekly time commitment: Up to four hours
Preparation weekly: approximately 1-2 hours out of class per week
Provide debate coaching to 9-15 students during weekly, one hour club meeting (approximately 24 meetings over eight months).
Attend a Coach Training Class (paid, 1-2 hours) before your first session, and up to three coach meetings throughout the year.
Regular communication with DebateAble staff and families of debaters.
January - May commitment.
