Dance Instructor
Pay starting at $12 per hour, is negotiable based on experience.
Parallel Dance Collaborative is interested in hiring additional dance instructors to teach students ages 3 and up in all styles of dance including creative movement, ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary.
This position reports to the Director and is an hourly position. The contract is ongoing unless determined by the instructor and/or PDC that it is terminated.
At Parallel Dance Collaborative teachers have a strong support system therefore, applicants will be expected to:
Possesses a strong awareness about the various needs of parents and students and be proactive in timely communication of those to the director.
Recognize that children and families are unique and have specific needs and our studio prides itself on directly addressing those needs.
The ability to handle various classroom situations and the understanding and confidence to ask for help.
A fun, nurturing and positive personality with a love of working with children and the passion of promoting the performing arts.
PDC trains dancers at all levels including those who want to dance professionally, at the collegiate level or just for fun. Each student is special and our goal is to help them reach their full potential as artists and as individuals.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Ability to manage their classroom, students and the needs of each dancer individually.
The ability to be patient, successfully manage their classroom and communicate your needs as a teacher to the director.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well with others
Experience / Education:
Bachelors degree in dance education or dance performance and/or significant professional dance experience
Two-years experience teaching dance
