We all know that teaching can be hard, it is mentally and physically demanding. But if you like working with children and you want to change their lives, it can also be the most rewarding job that you’ve ever had.
Role models for our students, Coaches are knowledgeable and passionate about technology. Through teaching, leading activities, and building relationships, Coaches inspire the next generation of innovators.
We are looking for coding coaches for after-school programs in Minecraft, Roblox, 3D character design, and robotics. Successful coaches/Instructors have a passion for technology and working with children and teens ages 7-16
Coaches use their communication, confidence, and clarity to work with their team in a fast-paced environment.
Coaches teach and mentor students to ensure that they understand the coding concepts.
They assist with daily instructional and classroom responsibilities as well as lead recreation activities during non-class time. Successful Coaches have a passion for technology and working with kids and teens! Our Coaches bring a work ethic and a high level of energy that helps ensure our students have a memorable experience that they will never forget.
This position is best for education majors or computer science majors. Preference will be given to applicants who have attended summer camp, or worked at attended coding classes.
Responsibilities include:
• Work with children to help them code video games in Scratch, Javascript, Lua, Python and Unity
• Create a positive, energetic and safe environment
• Assist in creating a FUN atmosphere by interacting with the kids
• Follow opening/closing duties daily
• Clean center throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to standards
• Report daily to Center Director
Qualifications:
• Knowledgeable about coding (Scratch, Javascript, Unity, Minecrat Modding)
• Experience working with children ages 7 and up is an asset
• Knowledgeable of video games on various consoles
• Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments
• Works well with others; collaborates
