Ministry Coordinator
Join our St. Andrew�s United Church team as the Children and Family Ministry Coordinator. We are located in North Vancouver near Lion�s Gate Hospital.
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Minister, develops an age-appropriate and theologically progressive children�s curriculum for Children�s Church.
Develops stimulating interactive lessons for Children�s Church based on the Bible and liturgical seasons, appropriately enhanced through nature study, story-telling, crafts, music, dance and other disciplines.
Attends the opening of worship services each Sunday, leads children downstairs for Children�s Church (returns with children for communion on the first Sunday of the month).
Provides a pastoral presence to individual children as needed.
Supports family events involving children�i.e. Teddy Bear Picnic, intergenerational services, Messy Church, Christmas pageant.
Communicates weekly with parents of children attending Children�s Church.
Contributes information for St. Andrew�s weekly E-News, newsletter, and website as requested.
Qualifications:
� Early Childhood Education training OR formal teaching qualifications OR equivalent work experience in teaching and providing programs for children (camp or church setting or after school care is applicable)
� Experience/history in the United Church of Canada OR in another Christian denomination
� Understanding of child development, particularly faith development
� Ability to work well independently and with others
� Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). WordPress, Twitter, Facebook skills an asset
Part-time: up to 12 hours/week
Sundays, occasional Saturdays, special events
