At Suncoast Senior Living Home we specialize in providing exceptional caregivers to help our residents maintain independence and dignity in a home-like environment. We are located at a 6-bedroom home in the Los Altos neighborhood of Long Beach. You will be assisting in the daily care of elderly, handicapped, and terminally ill individuals. Prior experience is preferred but not necessary. We do ask that you are compassionate, patient, and attentive to the seniors in our home.
We have seen this job to be ideal for many local CSULB and LBCC students aiming for a career in medicine/healthcare.

Pay rate: Negotiable, depending on experience
Up to $21/hr
Starting rate at $16/hr.
Starting rate negotiable for CNAs/Caregivers who can provide verifiable employer reference/license/certification and show proof of experience & skillset.
Paid training if and only upon satisfactory completion (Total training hours ~15 hours at $14/hr).
*$250 BONUS* & uniform reimbursement after 90-day probationary employment period - must have near-perfect attendance (no tardiness/unexcused call-outs) within probation period and pass state-required background check/LIVESCAN.
We are hiring for:
Full-Time (min. 3 days/week+) position
Part-Time (min. 2 days/week) position
Regular weekly and flexible schedules available
Day, Swing, and Overnight Shifts
Qualifications:
- Friendly, compassionate and caring demeanor
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Verifiable references
- Drivers License, Car and Auto Insurance
- INS authorization to work in the United States if you are not a citizen
- The ability to pass a criminal background check, drug test and TB test
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities and meals.
- Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties.
- Collaborate with families and providers for best care opportunities.
- Maintain a healthy, clean and comfortable living environment for residents.
- Perform light domestic/basic household maintenance tasks
- Provide companionship to residents and have positive demeanor
Shift Types:
Day Shift: (8am-8pm) (8am-6pm) (11am-9pm)
Overnight Shift: (8pm-8am) (8am-10am)
Responsibilities:
- Ability to assist senior patients on/off their bed/chair/toilet.
- Showering and grooming seniors (if senior is on hospice, assist shower aide and prepare patient for shower)
- Assisting seniors to use the restroom and changing diapers
- Assist with feeding at meal times
- Monitor patients (vital signs, temperature, respiration, etc.)
- Perform light domestic/basic household maintenance tasks - vacuuming, meal prep, rinse dishes, load dishwasher, cleaning, laundry, and folding.
- Provide companionship to residents and have positive demeanor
Skills:
- Valid driver�s license and/or government issued form of ID
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to monitor vital signs, notice and report any change in condition of senior residents
- Familiarity with basic nutrition and personal hygiene standards
- Caring, compassionate, positive and patient personality
- Reliable source of transportation (car/bike/bus/walk)
- Full Covid-19 vaccinations and proof required and willingness to take future vaccinations if needed for safety of seniors/immunocompromised residents
- Must pass state-required criminal background check/LIVESCAN
- High school degree or GED
- We do NOT hire individuals that are delinquent with child support payment
