Camp Counselor

Camp Bow Wow Midland Park offers dog day care, overnight boarding, full grooming services, training, and much more. Our four-legged guests engage in group play with each other in the indoor/outdoor play areas. All dogs must meet our requirements, pass our temperament assessment, and must be friendly towards people and other dogs. We take dogs of all breeds and sizes, from puppies to seniors, 10 pounds to 100+ pounds.
We provide all the training you need with a combination of videos, online programs, and hands on training. We offer competitive benefits and the opportunity to earn higher wages based on performance and experience. There are many opportunities to advance to different roles as you progress.
All Camp Counselors are responsible for:
- Supervising the dogs during play time and managing their behavior
- Picking up/cleaning up dog waste
- Cleaning indoor/outdoor play areas, cabins, food bowls, bathroom, kitchen, etc. Basically anything a dog touches.
- Escorting dogs from play areas to/from cabins, lobby, etc
- Feeding, watering, and medicating dogs
-Getting to know each dog and their personality/needs
Be prepared for:
- Standing on concrete floors almost your entire shift
- Showing dogs affection only when their behavior is good
- Lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Bending, crouching, lifting over your head
- Barking, sometimes just a little, sometimes a lot
We are looking for camp counselors who:
- Love dogs
- Accept direction
- Follow procedures and rules
- Can work as part of a team
- Are 18+
- Are reliable, responsible and flexible
Early shifts start at 6am. Late shifts end after 7pm. We need staff weekdays, weekends, Sundays and Holidays. Shifts are between 3 and 8 hours long. When listing your availability please include all days of the week from 6am to 7pm and Holidays.
