Assistant Teachers
We�re looking for someone to join our team at All-Star Kids Company!
If you love guiding young children in their learning and development, we�d love to hear from you.
This opening is for a teacher working with ages 2-5 years old in a play-based program. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of social-emotional development and how to encourage creative expression in an early childhood classroom. Our teachers work in teams of 2, with a ratio no higher than 1:6.
Our lead teachers work 30-33 hours a week, which consists of 20 hours in the classroom and 10-13 hours of meetings/prep. The school calendar for All-Star mirrors that of Seattle Public Schools and our classroom hours are from 8:55am-1:00pm.
We also have openings for assistant teachers (25hrs/wk).
Specific Job Qualifications for this Position:
1. Able to lift and potentially carry a child weighing up to 50 pounds;
2. Able to routinely kneel, bend, crouch, and sit on the floor for extended periods of time;
3. Able to stand, walk and sit on child sized chairs throughout the day;
4. Able to communicate in English verbally and in writing;
5. High School Diploma.
Preferred Candidate Qualifications for this Position:
1. AAS or BAS degree in Early Childhood Education;
2. 2 or more years applicable experience;
3. Experience working in a play-based learning environment.
Job Duties:
1. Classroom Management utilizing positive discipline, environment, and relationships;
2. Execute curriculum objectives that suit a play-based, creative learning philosophy;
3. Communicate regularly with parents about their child, and articulating how/why play is important;
4. Understand social, emotional and developmentally appropriate behavior for this early childhood age group;
5. Working as a team player on our staff; including attending meetings and contributing to staff community/culture;
6. Daily cleaning of classrooms and outside areas, prep work and setting up classrooms;
7. Other duties as they arise (special events, etc.)

We serve children ages 24 months to pre-kindergarten serving the Seattle area, located in Ballard, WA. We are dedicated to providing a fun, social and stimulating environment with hands-on playful learning activities. We provide the opportunity to each of our students for creative self-expression through movement, music, and art.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
