Position Description:
The Church Administrative Assistant (CAA) is a 20 hour per week support position
to the office of the Pastor. The CAA manages day-to-day office clerical duties and
church communications, including the church’s signage and social media.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Church Administrative Assistant:
• To answer phone calls, routing them to the appropriate leaders when available,
and taking messages when needed.
• To oversee all mail correspondence with sensitivity and confidentiality.
• To maintains an orderly and clean office and filing system and process all
information requests.
• To manage office supplies, keeps track of inventory, and purchases supplies as
necessary.
• To manage the church calendar, accounting for all religious holidays, events in
the church facilities, and weddings (schedules wedding tours and ceremony dates
in collaboration with the church custodian).
• To create and publish clear and contemporary looking church bulletin weekly,
and special event/holiday posters and mailers as needed.
• To update church website and social media handles weekly.
• To audit the church’s ROCK membership software quarterly, keeping tabs
activity of standing members and entering new ones.
• Works with pastor to maintain fastidious church staff files

Required Attitude, Knowledge, and Skills:
• Commitment to Jesus Christ and the mission of the church
• An ability to work collaboratively with staff and church members
• An ability to meet weekly deadlines.
• An ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in regard to church members
confiding sensitive and personal issues.
• Must be able to handle light bookkeeping.
• Must be comfortable working with desktop publishing software, Wordpress and
social media handles.
• Must be competent to interact well with people of diverse backgrounds
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to work occasional weekends, services and some special events.
Not required to be in worship every Sunday, however.

Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree recommended.
•. At least two years clerical or administrative experience preferred.

Compensation:
• Compensation begins at $21 per hour. Raises are assessed based on performance.
• Paid vacation time can be accrued up to 14 days per year in the first 2 years, and
up to 21 days per year in the 3rd to 7th year.
