Position Title: Project Intern

Project Intern
Position Purpose:
This is a grant supported part-time position subject to annual renewal of grant funds. This administrative support position assists all project staff (Executive Director, Program Manager, and Project Coordinator, and Project Assistant) in implementing grant-funded training and technical assistance projects in the areas of child abuse and family violence investigation and treatment.

Position Duties:
- This position has the opportunity to learn about grant funded projects in a non-profit environment.
- Performs various moderate clerical functions in a fast-paced environment.
Major duties include:
- Input and monitoring of registration for events; and the development of training materials to include editing, proofreading, printing, collating and coordination of shipping.
- Creating and disseminating flyers and brochures of various content.
- Regular use of project databases and publishing applications for detailed and accurate recordkeeping as required by project funders and to develop quality materials.
- Provides information and applies professional interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities when interacting with internal and external constituents.
- Uses social media as a marketing tool for training events and general agency messaging.

Position Qualifications:
- A high school diploma is required, or its equivalent combined with 1 year related work experience in an administrative assistant capacity with a wide variety of duties and responsibilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have working knowledge of computers and word processing applications.
- Desktop publishing and database knowledge is preferable.

The ideal candidate will have: excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; knowledge of and experience using electronic telecommunications such as e-mail, Internet, and teleconferencing; ability to independently handle and prioritize multiple assignments; excellent communication skills to effectively interact with public and staff; a positive and cooperative working style including ability and willingness to learn new skills; and good judgment, decision-making and time-management skills.
