Established artist seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable Studio Assistant to work in Baltimore Studio.
Bachelor of Fine Arts at minimum, though Master of Fine Arts is preferred.
Applicant should also be an excellent communicator, someone who takes initiative, willing to get their hands dirty and assist with unfinished works as needed.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in classical painting along with a thorough understanding of contemporary painting practices.
Knowledge of Computer Aided Design, photography and photo and video editing is a plus.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage social media and website
- Maintain, organize and clean studio
- Art fabrication
- Order materials and manage outside vendors/fabricators as needed
- Research
- Photo documentation, photo and video editing
- Run errands
- Source material
Experience & skills:
- Proficiency with MacOS X
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and video editing programs
- Proficiency in oil and acrylic painting with a concentration on the human and animal anatomy
- Ability to compose/edit artist statements, slide presentations, press releases, and media communications
