Sea Rose Montessori has excellent opportunities to collaborate with experienced, certified Montessori teachers as an assistant in our Montessori Primary classroom (3-6 years old) OR elementary aftercare lead or assistant (ages 6-9).
We have a wonderfully positive work environment with a good amount of outdoor time on our beautiful campus in Southern Portsmouth. We are looking for candidates with experience working with young children, who have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
You will help in the classroom: observing, guiding, and re-directing children as needed, using the positive discipline strategies in place in the classroom.
Montessori Primary Class Assistant roles: hours are M-F 7:45-11:30 am OR 11:30-3 pm. OR 3-5 p.m. Sea Rose follows the RI public schools calendar.
Aftercare for elementary roles: develop programming (lead) or assist and support students: hours are M-F 2:30-5 pm. Sea Rose follows the RI public schools calendar.

Sea Rose elementary aftercare lead or assistant
Opportunity to develop enrichment activities for elementary students ages 6-9: art, handcrafts, nature, woodworking, second-language, games and low-impact sports. A small and respectful group of students are eager to learn and grow. Requires BCI & CORI checks.
Sea Rose Montessori Assistant opportunities
Support lead guides and model behavior to support each child to reach their fullest potential in a prepared Montessori environment. Assistant teachers help prepare the environment and manage the classroom in accordance with Montessori philosophy, curriculum, and procedures for the appropriate age group. The assistant is also responsible for helping to maintain the operation of the classroom in accordance with Rhode Island licensing guidelines and requirements. Requires CORI check, CPR/First Aid certification.
Sea Rose Montessori School is also a DHS licensed child care facility. Required prior to employment:
RI DHS Child Care Program Personnel Sheet and required documentation (including educational background, transcripts, degree(s) earned, relevant current certifications, related professional development activities);
RI Attorney General�s Office Comprehensive Fingerprint and Criminal Record Background Check;
RI DHS Completed and notarized Criminal Affidavit form (for us by RI Attorney General�s Office or local police department performing comprehensive fingerprint and criminal record background check)
RI DCYF Clearance of Agency Activity
