Atlanta Country Club, located in Marietta, Georgia and bordered by the Chattahoochee River on the south and Sope Creek on the west and south, was founded in 1964 with a dream of building a world class golf course and hosting a PGA tour event. It is proud of its rich tradition and history and is consistently ranked as one of the top golf courses in the country. Although the focus is on its championship golf course, the 450 primary members are proud of the sports complex comprising of four clay and four hard surface tennis courts, the full service fitness center with an extensive range of exercise equipment and the wonderful dining facilities.

Job Description:
Atlanta Country Club has four (4) openings for the 2017 Summer season for a Food and Beverage Intern. We are looking for intern(s) that are interested in developing a career in Private Club Management. This position will be involved with the entire Food and Beverage department with a primary focus on assisting and leading the Pool Snack Bar Operation. This will be a service intensive program that will concentrate on assisting the leading staff as well as learning how to interact, communicate, and manage membership. The intern(s) will have the opportunity to sit in on committee meetings, staff meetings as well as weekly meeting with the General Manager.
This intern position is a Summer, Level 1 Internship.

The 2021 intern(s) will be expected to provide an end-of-season report to the House and Pool Committee reflecting on their experience and what they have learned. This season's intern(s) will also be instrumental in helping to create an internship program for years to come at the club. The candidate will be expected to contribute to an internship manual.

The intern will report directly to the General Manager.
Program Outline:
Interns will work extended periods of time in several key parts of the Club�s Food and Beverage operation with a focus on the Pool Snack Bar. This includes, but is not limited to:
A La Carte Dining Venues � The opportunity to work alongside the management team and staff in both formal and informal settings.
Banquets � Interns will work several banquets as servers. After seeing how events are run at the Club, they will then shadow the coordinator to help run and execute an event.
Pool Snack Bar � Assisting or Managing the Snack Bar Operations.
Other Experience:
Other experiences include weekly meetings, time with the Board of Directors, area club tours, possible CMAA meetings, and other interest areas around the club.
Qualifications:

Desired Experience and Skills:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Willingness to learn and improve upon knowledge of food and wine
Equally confident and comfortable in a busy restaurant and Club setting
Strong written and verbal communication; professional demeanor
Strong leadership skills with problem solving ability
Abide by appearance standards and be able to maintain hospitality standards for the Club
Attention to detail and ability to manage heavy workload, multitask, prioritize well and meet deadlines under pressure
Resourceful, flexible, proactive and reliable to fellow team members and managers
Passionate about the restaurant/hospitality field, trends and dining
Friendly, outgoing, motivated, flexible team player, with a passion to serve others
Sense of empathy and warmth. Sense of humor a plus
Education and/or Experience:
Current enrollment in a Hospitality, Restaurant/F&B Management or Tourism program and in good academic and performance standing.
