Camp Schodack is looking for friendly, caring, and energetic young professionals for their fast-paced and fun team. Gain valuable hands-on experience in a variety of environments and situations. A typical Youth Work Intern will be responsible for 15 campers and 2 Bunk Counselors in his/her cabin each session (though numbers can be slightly higher or lower). This position is also referred to as a Group Leader. A demanding and rewarding job that is an essential part of our summer team and the Schodack community.

Responsibilities
Attend paid training
Live and work with an assigned group of campers and co-staff
Foster a kind and happy environment
Provide responsible supervision
Encourage full participation in camp activities
Enforce all safety protocols and procedures
Effectively communicate with co-staff and manager on an ongoing basis
Manage camper�s emotions, well-being, and ideas with tact and care
Be an active participant in camp programs and special events
Maintain a positive attitude
Lead by example
Follow camp policies
Complete all evaluations and paperwork in a timely manner
Assist with additional tasks when requested

Job skills/requirements
Completed freshman year of college or work equivalent
Strong desire to work with children and be active
Childcare or coaching experience (strongly preferred)
Previous leadership experience (strongly preferred)
Problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a team
Warm and caring personality
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Dates and Compensation
June 20, 2022 - August 18, 2022
$2,500 for the season, if completed freshman year in college, + room & board, travel reimbursement (increased salary if completed more years of college)
