COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Fiberteq, LLC is a world class manufacturing organization that produces high quality wet-formed fiberglass mat for use in roofing and other commercial applications. Fiberteq is jointly owned and managed by IKO Industries and Owens Corning who are its sole customers. Fiberteq's Mission is to provide a safe working environment for our employees while producing high quality mat at the lowest cost in the industry using cutting edge processes and practices.

JOB SUMMARY:

Fiberteq provides an excellent learning environment for Engineering students who want to gain hands-on experience with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under the guidance of the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, the student will be assigned to team or individual projects.

ASSIGNED SCHEDULE:

The EH&S Intern's schedule will be determined upon the job offering which will work around the students' school schedule and the project needs of Fiberteq. The intern can work up to 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

Must be enrolled in a Safety Engineering/Occupational Health or equivalent engineering curriculum at an accredited College or University and have completed at least one year of studies

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Fiberteq policies, procedures, training and various involvement activities.
Assist in conducting a site evaluation for GHS requirements.
Contacting chemical suppliers to update the sites online (SDS) system.
Conducting audits on lockout tagout procedures.
Working in SharePoint to create a document library.
Auditing EHS policies and procedures validating compliance with OSHA regulations.

Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
Must display an appropriate level of maturity and a high level of professionalism
College level writing skills, organized thought and a high standard of grammar
Adaptable decisive and effective learner, wiliness to learn new processes, activities and tasks
Accepts responsibility for task assignments and strives to provide professional results
Self-motivated both individually and in a group setting with the ability to keep a set pace to complete assignments on schedule
Demonstrates dependability in acceptance of assignments and schedules
General proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required
General understanding of energy sources such as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and thermal is a plus
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
