POSITION SUMMARY:
Civic Works, Inc. seeks a creative, independent individual who has experience and a shown passion for aging in place, seniors and housing rehab. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the replication of the award-winning HUBS program in Baltimore County, Maryland.The Case Management Intern is responsible for assisting with multiple aspects of a BCAUSE program including picking up documentation from clients, conducting surveys, helping process applications, and all related paperwork and administrative tasks. While based out of Bel-Air Edison in Baltimore City, the selected candidate will be required to travel to sites throughout Baltimore County and to partner agencies often and is expected to have his/her own transportation for which mileage will be reimbursed.
ABOUT CIVIC WORKS INC.:
Civic Works strengthens Baltimore�s communities through education, skills development, and community service. Our key program areas include community improvement, workforce development, education, and green programs. Civic Works AmeriCorps members tutor and mentor students, create community parks and gardens, help homeowners conserve energy, grow food for low-income residents, rehabilitate abandoned houses, involve families in Baltimore City schools, make homes safer for older adults, and recruit volunteers. Civic Works also trains Baltimore residents for employment in the healthcare and green job industries.
BECAUSE PROGRAM:
Baltimore County Age-Friendly Upgrades for Seniors (BCAUSE) is an initiative created by a collaboration of service providers, funded by the Baltimore County Department of Aging, The Wesley, Inc., Leonard and Helen R. Stulman Charitable Foundation and Harry and Jeanette
Weinberg Foundation, and administered by Civic Works and BCDA. The purpose is to coordinate home repair services and related services for Baltimore County older adults to improve their health and safety, preserve the integrity of their properties, and extend the time that they can remain in their homes. BCAUSE brings together four partner agencies -- Civic Works, Rebuilding Together Baltimore, CHAI, Dundalk Renaissance Corporation with the Baltimore County Department of Aging. Community Outreach Specialists (COS) at BCDA initially screen potential BCAUSE clients for eligibility for the program and then connect eligible seniors to the appropriate partner agency based on zip code. The partner agencies coordinate home repair services based on priority needs and budget availability.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
? Available from January 9 � July 28, 2023
? Available 34-40 hours per week
? Currently enrolled in college or recent graduate
? Able to pass a criminal background check
? COVID-19 vaccination required depending on the host site
? Experience/interest in case management
? Dependable and self-motivated
? Familiarity with Baltimore County
? Driver�s license. (Personal transportation)
Terms of Service:
This position is a 900-hour AmeriCorps service term. The AmeriCorps member will receive training, professional development, and an educational award of $3,447.50 upon successful completion of service that can be used for college, trade school, or to repay qualified student loans. In order to be a Civic Works AmeriCorps member, you must be at least 17 years old; a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or �lawful permanent resident alien�; and able to pass a drug test and criminal and sex offender background check.
