Counselor
We are seeking a licensed mental health professional to join our team! The Harrison Youth Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs and other harmful substances by equipping youth with healthy coping skills and other protective factors. We are a prevention agency licensed by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). Our social workers use various evidence-based programs in our district's elementary schools, day camps and afterschool programs to encourage healthy development and prosocial activities.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual, family and group counseling for youth age 5-20 and their families
- Provide school and community-based outreach programs and presentations at local schools, day camps and other venues
- Assess nature of clients' situations by interviewing and reviewing personal history
- Determine appropriate milestones to gauge client progress and develop service plans
- Maintain accurate client documentation
- Crisis Intervention
Minimum Qualifications:
License in mental health/social work fields, valid in NY State
Experience in the use of evidence-based practice models
Compassionate and caring demeanor
Experience with youth ages 5-20
Ability to build rapport with clients
Strong leadership qualities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Valid driver�s license and car
Bilingual is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Salary: $51,800.00 per year
