ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT:
Develops and implements enrichment programs and curriculum into camps and Y Learning Centers.
Creates an appropriate and safe environment for conducting programs by ensuring the equipment and supplies are adequate and maintained.
Complies and adheres to the state of Michigan childcare licensing regulations and the association standards.
Participates in branch special events, and site specific events.
Creates site specific communication via staff and community partners.
Engages with participant parents and family regularly.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT:
Supervises the site leads, leads, and site assistants - approximately 40 to 50 part-time staff - for assigned branches and schools within their assigned neighborhoods.
Serves as the liaison to local schools and community groups to facilitate program development.
Provides weekly communications to school staff and principals.
Ensures all staff maintain required certifications and credentials.
Conducts regular staff meetings as needed.
Attends weekly staff meetings with department reports.
Assists in providing and coordinating the training of all department staff.
Creates and reviews professional development and program goals with all part-time staff.
Oversees all disciplinary procedures for part-time staff.

ADMINISTRATION:
Works with accounting department to ensure timely collection of fees and tuition as well as the weekly processing of receipts and statements.
Ensures all suspension of care policies are carried our correctly in a timely manner at sites.
Distributes promotion materials to all sites consistently.
Schedules and attends events at all school sites to promote Afterschool program.
Wears staff uniform or professional business attire.

FISCAL MANAGEMENT:
Responsible for helping sites oversee their program budget, including CACFP food program.
Oversee site and staff participation in branch Annual Campaign events and donations

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in early-child, leadership, recreation or related field is required.
Education and credentials must meet State of Michigan School Age and Child Care licensing requirements.
Two years of experience working with children in a recreational education or childcare setting required.
Experience in administration, including personnel management, budget development and control, supervision, curriculum, program planning, and knowledge of the State licensing process with the ability to implement is required.
Previous experience working with multiple sites or programs is desirable.
Documentation of a physical exam and a TB test is required within 30 days of hire and thereafter as required by law.
