Veterinary Assistant
Kenton and Cathedral Animal Hospitals are women-owned veterinary hospitals located in the lovely Kenton and St. Johns neighborhoods. As an integrative practice, we offer a multi-modal and individualized approach to each patient through traditionally familiar Western medicine, as well as other modalities which includes TVCM, acupuncture, laser therapy, herbal medicine and massage therapy. We practice Fear-Free techniques and take each patient’s physical and emotional well being into account for each visit.
Since opening Kenton Animal Hospital in 2016 and Cathedral Animal Hospital in 2019, we have grown exponentially and are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a strong work ethic and love for animal welfare to join our team! We strive to provide a supportive and inviting environment for our employees, and take pride in the strong team atmosphere we’ve cultivated thus far. We are also passionate about community engagement, which has included participation in local neighborhood events, becoming members of PrideVMC, and donating annually to organizations such as NAYA and Black United Fund of Oregon.
We are currently seeking one to two experienced veterinary assistants to join our team! This position includes supporting our veterinarians with all aspects of patient care, collecting thorough patient medical history for appointments, safe and humane patient handling, filling and administering medications of various forms, performing radiographs, collecting specimens for diagnostic testing, maintaining detailed and appropriate communication between staff and clients, and more!
Job Type : Full-time or Part-time, 1 Location primarily (Could have a few shifts at the other Animal Hospital)
Requirements: 1 year or more of Veterinary experience preferred.
Salary: $15.00-$21.00/hour (depending on experience)
