The Case Manager is a full–time (40 hours per week) non-exempt position reporting to the Vendor Program Director. Vendors are independent contractors who purchase then resell the Real Change newspaper to earn an income. The Case Manager assists vendors in reaching their personal and professional goals, while supporting the success of the Vendor Program at Real Change. The Case Manager will work with vendors one on one to navigate and access available services and resources. This position will provide short-term case management, referrals, and crisis management for an evolving case load primarily of people experiencing homelessness and poverty. Working in the Vendor Center, this position will support Vendor Program goals including community-building and partnership development, and will maintain a safe, welcoming and productive environment.


Primary roles and responsibilities:
Vendor Case Management (30%)

Provide short-term, intensive case management to vendors
Provide regular drop-in hours for vendors requesting support, and outreach vulnerable vendors when needed under direction of manager
Follow up with vendors on progress toward self-identified goals on a reliable basis
Advocate on behalf of vendors to service providers, landlords and support networks
Provide vendors with requested documentation and maintain organized records as needed
Develop and oversee programs, classes, or trainings for vendors as assigned
Assist vendors with transportation to appointments
Maintain and file current records, adhering to confidentiality
Maintain current records in Vendor Database and Internal Blog

Vendor Support (30%)
Create and maintain a safe and welcoming environment
Support vendors to build relationships, resolve conflicts, and engage at Real Change
Staff sales desk for regular shifts and as needed
Manage field outreach with partner organizations for recruitment and relationship building
Assist with monthly vendor meetings
Conduct orientations and sales training for new vendors
Coordinate the distribution of the Emerald City Resource Guide


Program Support (30%)
Coordinate vendor participation in Real Change events
Participate in efforts to expand circulation under direction of manager
Work collaboratively with other departments within Real Change
Train and supervise volunteers as needed
Enforce Authorized Vendor Guidelines and disciplinary consequences as needed


Administrative and Documentation (10%)
Participate in weekly vendor staff meetings and monthly staff meetings
Serve on one cross-department Strategic Plan committee
Track, maintain and analyze program metrics including case management activities and organizational outreach
Perform other tasks as assigned


Required Skills:
Experience working with others struggling with homelessness, addiction, mental illness
Commitment to harm reduction and de-escalation principles
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and non-judgmental way
Attention to detail
Ability to learn and use Microsoft Suite
Flexibility to be successful in an unstructured and constantly changing environment


Compensation: Salary range is $21.61/hour - $23.90/hour. Benefit package includes Health and Dental coverage, generous PTO - 3 weeks’ vacation, 2 weeks’ sick, 10 holidays, 403B Retirement Fund with a 4% Real Change contribution, flexible work schedule and professional development funds.
