Pathways for Life Academy is a private Middle and High School serving students with varying exceptionalities. We pride ourselves in teaching to the whole student and developing life skills integrated with an academic curriculum. Our therapy driven teaching approach and small group environment allow students to be effective independent learners.

This position offers a rewarding environment where the ESE Co-teacher can be impactful and integral in the lives of students with unique needs and learning challenges. The ESE Co-Teacher will be responsible for working with students who have learning differences for the core subjects in the morning. The full-time position includes teaching core academics in the morning with 3-5 students and then the afternoons include life, social, and executive functioning skills training and teaching.

We are looking for a committed ESE Teacher to complement our qualified educators. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students with learning differences and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to help cultivate the students� interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.

Responsibilities

Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
Assess and record students� progress and provide grades and feedback
Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
Observe and understand students� behavior, psyche, strengths and weakness.Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.
