Deland Preparatory Academy is a 4-12 private school located in Deland, Florida. Deland Prep is committed to the development of the whole child. We believe that it is our responsibility to develop children mentally, physically, and intellectually. We believe that there is no ceiling for a child's learning capacity. We provide each student with direct academic and development experiences that challenge them on and above grade level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Maintains a safe and orderly environment. Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students.
Remains at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principal.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
Communicates effectively with parents when needed. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated. Completes other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Agreement with the academic goals and philosophy of the private school
Knowledge of current educational research and issues
Demonstrated effective collaboration and communication skills
Demonstrated effective problem solving, planning and organizational skills
Ability to structure own time and manage multiple priorities
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of adult learning and effective staff development practices
Exhibited leadership in working with professional staff, students, and the community
Demonstrated success in encouraging parental involvement
Facilitation skills
Evidence of data driven decision-making
Knowledge of professional learning communities
