We have an immediate need for a Permanent Substitute at our Brooklyn school. This is a full time position and you will be placed in a classroom that is in need of a teacher for the day. The school year is consistent with the Jewish calendar and closed during the summer.

Position Summary:

In a classroom environment the Permanent Roving Substitute will implement the absentee teachers lesson plans and supervise the classroom, while practicing Magen David Yeshivah�s high level of care and educational standards.

Responsibilities:

Collaborating with the lead teacher and reviewing lesson plans.

Preparing and studying the material to be taught, in order to be knowledgeable of the objectives of the lesson.

Developing instructional course materials, and innovating ideas to make learning flexible and enjoyable.

Tracking and rating students' progress during lessons, and on formative and summative assessments.

Meeting with the lead teacher to reflect on your observations of the lesson.

Tending to all class responsibilities to complete scheduled targets in the lead teacher's absence.

Attend meetings and discussions to understand the functioning of the classroom and the strategies implemented.

Assisting and offering ideas in classroom and bulletin board design.

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of a Bachelor�s degree in education or related field (Speech, Psychology, etc). May have Allegra Franco certificate in place of a Bachelor�s degree.

Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience.

Candidates should have Yeshivah experience/background
