Employment Specialist (Various Positions)
DKA is growing and has a variety of jobs open! We help people with barriers to employment receive the training and support needed to reenter the workforce.
New positions include:
� In-reach and out-reach to incarcerated individuals who are soon to be released, to help educate them about resources for housing, clothing, transportation, pre-employment services and other related needs for successful reentry into the community.
� Assisting women who have been involved in rehabilitation programs, incarcerated, or experiencing mental health problems to pursue the education or training needed to find employment in the behavioral health services to provide peer support.
� Job coaching on-site at employer locations including document scanning and imaging, restaurants and shipping
� Job development - helping people learn job-search skills, applications, interview preparation, job matching, placement/hiring, supported employment and retention
Requirements and preferences:
� Minimum one year experience working with people with disabilities preferably in the area of rehabilitation, teaching or training
� Bachelors� degree in social service or related (may compensate with more experience)
� Able to make connections and find resources to help the marginalized in our community
� Sales and/or knowledge of the local business community and networking skills
� Good writing skills
� Experience teaching or giving presentations to small groups
� Must be able to obtain fingerprint clearance within 90 days of hire
� Must pass pre-employment drug screen
� Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
� Must show proof of COVID vaccination
Personal history of incarceration, mental health, or substance abuse recovery is a plus.
